Jah-bul-on / Jah-buh-lun

The “evil” Masonic god.
This statement is probably one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. It seems that it is mostly said by people who just don’t have a clue, people who have just never bothered to do any research, or people who have never bothered to find out both sides of the story. I am still open to comments on this so if any one has any feed back please let me know.

FREE MASONRY IS NOT A RELIGION.
I think this pretty much sums up the whole argument. If freemasonry is not a religion, why would freemasonry have a god?

In some versions of the Royal Arch Degree a word similar to this is used, but it has never been claimed that this word is a name for God, or is the name of some secret god. The words "Jah" and Ba'al" are both Semitic words that mean "lord". The author of this version of the ritual which uses the word also apparently (and mistakenly) believed that "On" meant "lord", due to a misreading of the book of Genesis, where it says that Joseph married the daughter of the "Priest of On" (on was, in fact, the name of the city, not an Egyptian word for God). It is true that the word Ba'al was used by the Canaanites, who applied it to an idol, but it is also true that the Hebrews used the word for their God, as it was a generic title for "king" or "lord". Regardless, it is apparent that the author of the ritual, although he was mistaken about "On", thought that all three words meant "Lord", and that's why the ritual says that these words describe God, not that they are His names. Indeed, the ritual confirms that God's name is that which is mentioned many times in the KJV Old Testament, i.e., "Jehovah".

JAH
In Hebrew M. Maimonides calls it the two-lettered name, and derives it from the Tetragrammaton, of which he says it is an abbreviation. Others have denied this, and assert that Jah is a name independent of Jehovah, but expressing the same idea of the Divine Essence. It is uniformly translated in the authorized version of the Bible by the word Lord, being thus considered as Synonymous with Jehovah, except in Psalm lxviii, 4, where the original word is preserved: "Extol Him that rideth upon the heavens by His name Jah," upon which the Targum comment is "Extol Him who sitteth on the throne of glory in the ninth heaven; Yah is His name." It seems, also to have been well known to the Gentile nations as the triliteral resume of God; for, although biliteral among the Hebrews, it assumed among the Greeks the triliteral form, as IAO Macrobius, in his Saturnalia, says that this was the sacred name of the Supreme Deity; and the Clarian Oracle being asked which of the gods was Jao, replied, "The initiated are bound to conceal the mysterious secrets. Learn thou that IAQ is the Great God Supreme who ruleth over all" (see Jehovah) .

BUL
The primitive designation of the month Marchesvan (see Zif). Doctor Oliver says in his Landmarks (11, 551), that this is one of the names of God among the ancients. It is also said to be an Assyrian word signifying Lord or Powerful.

ON
This is a significant word in Royal Arch Masonry, and has been generally explained as being the name by which Jehovah was worshiped among the Egyptians. As this has been denied and the word asserted to be only the name of a city in Egypt, it is proper that some inquiry should be made into the authorities on the subject. The first mention of On in the Bible is in the history of Joseph, to whom Pharoah gave "to wife Asenath, the daughter of Potipherah, priest of On." The city of On was in Lower Egypt, between the Nile and the Red Sea, and "adorned," says Philippson, "by a gorgeous temple of the sun, in which a numerous priesthood officiated." The investigations of modern Egyptologists have shown that this is an error. On was the name of a city where the sun-god was worshiped, but On was not the name of that god.

Reality Check

But let's try to look at this using common sense:
  • Does it seem reasonable to think that some 3-5 million Masons of today have all misunderstood what Masonry was really all about?
  • Is it conceivable that thousands of religious leaders and hundreds of thousands of devout religious followers have been 'tricked'?
  • Can you really believe that national leaders and common people are all sharing a common, secret agenda?
  • Do you think there is some incredible knowledge held by the small handful of those who protest against Freemasonry, and often argue amongst themselves on various issues such as religion, that transcends the knowledge and intelligence of the millions of Masons during the past three hundred years?
  • Could tens of millions of people over the past three hundred years - including leaders in all walks of religious, political, educational, and other fields - all have been so totally and completely wrong - while the small handful of those who have opposed Freemasonry during that same period be right?
  • Can people who don't agree on what the 'proper' version of the Bible is and argue over who are 'legitimate' preachers really be correct in this specific matter?
  • And finally - IF Masonry was so evil, why haven't more people 'defected'? Why isn't Masonry more secretive? Why aren't there more exposes? Why, oh, why?

Freemasonry On TV (Video)

Something I found while viewing a freemason forum. I found it very interesting, although it took a little while for me to download, it’s about 22 min long.

Freemasonry Today (Video)

Hopefully it will be of interest to you.

Define:

Freemasonry is a fraternal organization whose membership is held together by shared moral and metaphysical ideals and—in most of its branches—by a constitutional declaration of belief in a Supreme Being.

The Beginning

Good day. This is my first entry, so I think this is the correct place to tell you a little about what is going to be happening here.

Firstly I think it is fair to state that I am NOT a freemason. I have just found this to be a very interesting association, an association which I can relate to.

On this site I will be posting whatever information I find on freemasonry, there will be the good and the bad. This will consist of pretty much anything I can get my hands on, images, movies, ect.

Hope that you find the information interesting and useful.
